Who We Are

Been There Done That! (“BTDT,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Extended Play LLC. BTDT helps tourists discover, track, and rank food, attractions, landmarks, tours, and other real-world experiences.

Information We Collect

We collect information needed to operate, personalize, improve, and support the app.

• Account and contact information: email address, username, display name, sign-in provider details, and profile information you choose to provide.
• Location information: precise location when you allow location access, and coarse/home-location information used for discovery, search context, distance, and verified interactions.
• User content: photos, rankings, Been There and Done That interactions, tour activity, suggestions, menu requests, tour guide applications, social profile links you choose to add, and other content submitted through the app.
• Identifiers: account IDs, Firebase user IDs, usernames, device or app instance identifiers, and advertising identifiers where permitted.
• Usage and interaction data: app launches, taps, searches, filters, rankings, tour joins, object interactions, and other activity that helps BTDT function.
• Advertising data: information related to ads served in the app, such as impressions, ad performance, and related advertising identifiers handled through ad partners.
• Diagnostics: crash data, performance data, device type, operating system, app version, logs, and technical information used to keep the app reliable.

How We Use Information

• Create, authenticate, and manage accounts.
• Show nearby places, attractions, experiences, tours, and other app content.
• Save rankings, interactions, history, profile settings, and tour participation.
• Provide location-based features, including distance, discovery, and verified Been There interactions.
• Personalize what you see based on your activity, location settings, preferences, and app use.
• Review suggestions, improve data quality, respond to support requests, and process account deletion or restoration requests.
• Measure app reliability, performance, ad performance, and feature usage so we can improve BTDT.
• Protect BTDT, tourists, our systems, and the public app experience from abuse, misuse, or fraud.

Advertising and Tracking

BTDT may show ads through third-party advertising partners such as Google AdMob. These partners may collect or receive device identifiers, advertising identifiers, ad interaction data, and related technical information to serve ads, measure ad performance, limit fraud, and support advertising functionality.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your email address, rankings, photos, profile content, or precise location to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Where required, your device or platform may ask for permission before advertising identifiers are used for tracking.

How Information May Be Shared

We may share limited information in the following situations:

• With service providers that help operate BTDT, such as hosting, authentication, database, storage, analytics, diagnostics, advertising, email, and support providers.
• When you choose to make profile details, rankings, tours, images, or other activity visible through the app.
• When required by law, legal process, safety needs, security review, or to enforce our terms.
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, if applicable.

Public Content and Visibility

Some BTDT features may allow profile details, uploaded photos, rankings, interactions, tours, or other submitted content to be visible to other tourists depending on app settings and feature design. Do not submit content you do not want reviewed or potentially displayed in the app.

Location Information

If you allow location access, BTDT may use precise location to show nearby content, calculate distance, support visit verification, and enable location-aware features. You can control location permissions in your device settings. If precise location is not available, BTDT may use a coarse or home-location setting for discovery and search context, but home location is not used to verify that you are physically at a place.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide BTDT, maintain account history, improve services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the app.

You may request account deletion in the app. When deletion is requested, your account and public profile are removed from public view and scheduled for permanent deletion after a grace period. During that grace period, you may be able to restore the account from within the app. Uploaded photos provided by the account may be removed from public view and queued for removal.

Your Choices

• You can update certain profile and account settings in the app.
• You can control device permissions, including location access, from your device settings.
• You can request account deletion in the app or contact support for help.
• You can contact us to ask privacy questions or request help with information associated with your account.

Children’s Privacy

BTDT is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to BTDT, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

Security

We take reasonable steps to help protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
